Leecy is a 45-year-old mother of five children ages 8-22. She and her husband of 25 years, Gary live just outside of Lynchburg, Virginia. Leecy was diagnosed with stage 3, triple negative breast cancer in 2013. Just six months after completing a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation, her cancer metastasized. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in March 2014 after cancer was discovered in her brain and later in her chest and lungs. Since then, she has taken over 100 chemotherapy treatments and has been hospitalized for over 100 days from the complications of her terminal diagnosis. In June 2015, regular scans revealed that she was NEaD (no evidence of active disease). Leecy is a strong advocate for women with all stages of breast cancer and will speak about overcoming adversity.
