Pink Promise Luncheon 2020
7th Annual Pink Promise Luncheon – A Celebrate in Place Event
Tuesday, October 13, 2020
Lunch Pickup 10 – 11:30 AM | Virtual Program 12 – 1 PM
We have been working hard to re-imagine the Pink Promise Luncheon in a way that is safe for you but also allows our community to gather and continue to support our mission and our promise to end breast cancer. Instead of gathering as one group at the Hotel Roanoke, we invite you to gather as you are comfortable and let us do the work!
Option 1 – Table Sponsorship – $1,000
We will provide a “Luncheon in a Box” which will include everything you need to host 9 people: boxed lunches from Tracy Hamilton Catering, specialty “Cube” drink from Lucky, event programs, and a gorgeous flower centerpiece! You decide where to gather your table – your home, a conference room or even a park!
Option 2 – Individual Meal – $100 per person
We will provide a boxed lunch from Tracy Hamilton Catering, specialty “Cube” drink from Lucky, and your event program. Enjoy lunch on your own or with a few friends
We will stream the Pink Promise Program from noon to 1:00pm. The Program will include 2 speakers as well as the live reveal of our Unlock the Cure Winners at Fink’s Jewelers.
The 2020 Pink Promise Luncheon is SOLD OUT. Please ONLY click “Reserve Your Space” if you are paying for a seat that you previously reserved.

Keynote speaker: Chaunte’ Lowe
CHAUNTE’ LOWE is one of only two women in American history to compete on 4 US Olympic teams, while also holding the title of “mother of 3”. In June of 2019, Chaunte was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. As an Olympian, Chaunte’ knows a thing or two about goal setting and overcoming challenging obstacles. It is with this mindset that Lowe decided to train through Chemo for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. With early detection on the top of her agenda, her mission is to use her platform to give a voice to those affected by breast cancer and invoke true change. She felt the best way to do this is by teaming up with Susan G. Komen and lending her voice to organizations who support its efforts. When speaking, she clearly illustrates the transferable attributes of her athletic success that helped her not only survive but thrive through her cancer diagnosis and treatments. She artfully draws in her audience with attention-grabbing stories and imagery. Her accomplishments in addition to her integrity, philanthropy, and perseverance have earned her the honor of being inducted into four separate halls of fame. Her goal when speaking is to both teach and inspire. Lowe’s enthusiasm for engaging the audience is infectious and leaves her listeners hanging on her every word. She’s funny, relatable and authentic.
Local Speaker: Kristie Buchanan
KRISTIE BUCHANAN is a 50 year old Roanoke woman with four children including one girl and three boys. Last December, she was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, the first of her immediate family to be diagnosed. Kristie was assisted by Komen funding and will share how Komen Virginia Blue Ridge was able to help her through her breast cancer journey.
